Some of the footings on the back wall are being used as a retaining wall, that's why they are so wide.

It's now an official job site, the Honey Bucket is there. Oh, the foundation is ready for forms too.

New Gate

This will keep the honest people out.

Still Digging

Almost there. Lost three hours today when a hydraulic hose broke. I'll put in a gate this weekend to keep the honest people out. My builder will be back at it next week. What better time to pull the RV down by the barn and have a nice camp fire this weekend.

Dirt First

The grass that I've spent two years mowing is now gone and the start of digging out the foundation is here. We've started.!!!!

T-Minus Two

Two days before the planned start.

It's About Time.

Janette and I started the process to build our house in 2006. OK, not build but paperwork.

- Survey the land
- Clear the trees
- Septic design
- House plans
- Finding a builder
- Clearing the title
- Getting a loan

All sounds easy but there is a long story behind everything that has been done so far. I'm sure that the actual building of the house will be the easy part.

On Thursday October 16th, our builder plans on turning dirt and starting the build process. With any luck we should be moving in at the first of next year.
